Is it possible to create your own MOLCD-compatible keypad out of switches and temperature sensors?
Or is that only for the exper electronicus?
Create your own keypad
Well, the keypad would be very easy...
The way the keypad works is by shorting out a column and a row pin of the keypad. On a 25 key unit (ex LK204-25) has a 5 by 5 keypad matrix. When a row and a column are shorted out, the LCD sees this and sends a key press back over the serial cable (which is just a letter). So if you connect a momentary switch or any other matrix style keypad it work and is easy enough! As for temperature sensors, well this is harder. You would have to use the I2C interface and interface it to a temperature sensing IC. (I
