I've gotten an LCD display from a Lap top.
It's an IBM Thinkpad 9547 (760EL)

It's just a LCD screen with 1 cable on it with just 2 wires. Someone told me I may need to get the interface card that goes with this. I'm wanting to hook it up as either a display mounted in the computer case itself like a super MP3 player, system monitor. Or hook it up as a replacement for the monitor. Any ideas on what I need or a place to find the schematic for this. IBM is pretty well usless with info. Any help would be great. Help With LCD Display project
Get about 200 bucks together and head to http://www.earthlcd.com/ . They can sell you a PCI or ISA controller for your screen (not AGP, AFAIK). You may also need to get a backlight inverter, maybe even a backlight. It can be more expensive than just ordering their $299 kit, and the kit is guaranteed to work, your salvage piece isn't.
