Hi Jon,

I expect the key feature will be the baud rate; it is the most likely to cause communication issues. Unfortunately, the set baud rate command in the uProject GUI uses the old command and will not work correctly for new units like the LK204-7T-1U (this may be the only command we've ever changed).

Please use the Raw Data command under the Other branch of the Uploader tab to send the command byte by byte as it is shown in your manual. Confirm that it is successful by communicating to the unit in a Windows environment without the manual override button procedure.

Thanks,
~Troy

Hello Troy,

yes, I did all that as I previously stated in a previous post.

Anyway, still can't communicate under Linux.

Hello Jon,

To confirm then, you can communicate in Windows but not Linux, is that correct?

If this is the case, I don't believe the fault lies in the display. I would recommend taking note of all communication settings in the Windows environment and ensuring they are set correctly in your Linux project. You might also try a different port or another Linux machine to ensure the port you are using is functional.

Thanks,

Hello Troy,

I tried another Lnux Machine and the result is the same.

Even though I can send text through uProject in Windows, I still can't do it in Linux like I used to.

The Linux settings are these:

# Select the output device to use [default: /dev/lcd]
Device=/dev/ttyUSB0
Size=20x4
Type=lkd
Contrast=480
Brightness=1000
OffBrightness=0
Speed=19200

And those were working great before all this started to happen.

When I start lcdproc, all I can see now is the Backlight go on, then go off and then nothing shows up on the LCD display.

So, I ask (once again) how can I set all LCD settings to their default values.
Because it seems like the dot button procedure isn't enough for this.

One more thing. A while ago I reported that the bar graphs wouldn't show up properly.

In uProject I did a large digit test: I placed a "5" and a "6".

The result is in the attached picture, which isn't a great result at all.

Please, help me solve these issues or I will have to find another way.

More things: reading module type, serial number, version number always brings different values (or no values at all).

And that was using uProject (Windows).

Doing a "Show Large digit clock" gives the same kind of results: all garbled characters.

Hi Jon,

It sounds like communication in Windows is now failing as well. It's difficult to say what has happened to the unit at this time, but without the ability to communicate to the unit it looks like I'll need to get it back for repair.

I see the start of the serial number written on the box in your image, if you could confirm the entire 11M09 number listed on the box as well as your shipping information I can get started on an RMA order for return.

Please send all information directly to me through a PM.

Thanks,
~Troy
