Are you using Windows 7?
I had no such problems using either Vista or Xp and Mediaportal.
thanks

Which drivers did you use?
I have tried the win 7 rtm driver and have tried drivercore release builds 97 and 99.
It is strange that when i start mediaportal my screen changes to my mediaportal configuration colour but shows no text.
many thanks
andmc :)

I'm using pretty much all the defaults and Driver Core Build 58 from the website. Double check that MediaPortal doesn't change your contrast, that's the only thing I can think of atm.

with the splash screen never changing that means Driver Core has not started, I'll get Ray in here to give his two cents.

Just to rule out any media portal issues, when you run lcdinfo from the GX folder does stuff appear on your display or does just keep displaying the GX logo? Does the GXDefaults tool work?

Not really given LcdInfo and GXDefaults are working its kinda out of my control. The Driver stack is obviously up and working since lcdinfo is talking to it , there's no reason media portal should have issues, perhaps its some configuration issue in media portal but too be honest I'm not too knowledgable on media portal, henry? you got anything smart to add?
