GTT38A PC Bay Installation (USB Version)

Post by delshay »

This thread is for parts that maybe needed to install this display into a PC 5.25 bay. This type of cable don't seem to be that common. (Installation/modification at your own risk)

*USB/Motherboard cable cheap. (back in stock 26/09/2016).

Here is what I use for Keypad Extension cable (Note: you need to find 8 pin Male to Male adaptor at Keypad end)

Other Notes: Surprisingly Matrix Orbital Keypad KPP4X4 for this display can be back-lit, I missed this part, so I may add this in, as keypad here is removable as it is attached to perspex Acrylic Sheet cut to the same size as the keypad itself & is attached inside the PC via Velcro.

Anyone trying this modification you are going to need frosted white/frosted silk white or gloss white perspex Acrylic Sheet. Not sure which one will work best, but will look into it.

*Here Display must be powered by the floppy connector.

I have one of my two display mounted in the 5.25 bay. Absolutely stunning perfect finish when viewed from the outside, but not so tidy finish when viewed from behind where it is mounted, but you can't see this once its in the drive PC bay. Not sure if I should list how it is mounted, as it requires a little work on the bracket which takes around 10-20mins.
