Matrix Orbital BGK19264-BK-USB-WB or GX series?

Post by Goggle Eye »

New at this forum. Please excuse me if I have posted in the wrong place.

Matrix Orbital BGK19264-BK-USB-WB

Is the BGK19264-BK-USB-WB s a new product for Matrix Orbital?

Does it come with software and drivers on a CD?

Can I hook up tempreture probes and if so how many?

I want to monitor mother board, Quad Core CPU, 3 graphic cards, memory.

Hard drives.

Temps, Voltage, MGHz, percent of usage.

Should I purchase the GX Typhone instead?

Is Maytrix Orbital going to replace the GX Typhone?

Please help I have read all the forums including LCDC.

I could not find any information on drivers and software or what the software included.

Does the software include meters etc for the BGK19264-BK-USB-WB?

Is the software kinda like the GX series?

Thanks

The BGK19264-BK-USB-WB has been around for a little while already and is a product for the OEM market, it comes with USB Drivers and software to upload bitmaps and fonts to the unit but thats about it, customers that buy this unit are usually industrial customers that want to easily add an interface and some basic IO to their existing applications so its not meant for the same market as the GX.

So I'm having a hard time figuring out what is unique about the GX Series series as well. There doesn't seem to be as much documentation.

In the application notes section of your site you have code examples in many languages (including C# which is what I'm interested in). It doesn't seem the GX series is compatible with that, is that correct?

Conversely, the LcdStudio software would not work with the BGK19264 series?

So what's the advantages of the GX series?

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,

The GX series is great for users who would like to easily display system and program information on an external display without learning all of the code that LCDStudio takes care of.

The GLK19264-7T-1U found in the package you specified does not have LCDStudio software behind it, but you can display anything you can code in a number of different languages.

Thanks,

Just following on from your (now year-old) comment, Troy: when you say that the "does not have LCDStudio software behind it", does that mean that LCD Studio will not work with the GLK19264? I have the USB version, and LCD Studio will not detect it. Is this expected behaviour?

Thanks

Hi Manek,

LCDC does not have a definition file for the GLK19264, so I would not expect it to find the display using detect. You should be able to specify a port, com speed, and a definition file manually (perhaps an LK204-25) to use the unit, but LCDC does not have configuration settings specific to the GLK19264.

Thanks,
