Along with the blackscreen when waking from sleep mode I could not get the LCD to run at startup. My solution:

Disable Selective USB Suspend

Create a basic task using Windows 7 Task Scheduler. Run at Startup, run with highest privileges, Windows 7 compatibility mode, point the task to your lcd studio executable.

Absolutely no problems (yet)- runs at system boot and wakes from sleep.

Hi Irish,

Thanks for sharing this work around to the GX sleep trouble. We are currently working with the new Windows8 drivers to try to find a more permanent fix, but until then this post will be most helpful for anyone experiencing a similar problem.

Thanks again,
Troy

Is LCD Studio no longer supported? I keep looking for plug-ins (like POP3) and find a lot of dead links. I also notice that the current software version supports programs like MBM, which hasn't been updated in years.

Thanks

Hi Irish,

LCDStudio is a third party program, so it is difficult for me to comment on the design cycle for the project. It could very well be that most of the critical issues have been resolved. I do know the most recent build for GX displays went up on our site in April of last year and see the forums still appear active.

We are continuing work with the firmware and drivers to track down and fix the nagging wake from sleep and freezing GX issues noted here.

Thanks,
Troy
