Vista64 & Drivecore Problem

Post by dmw5678 »

I'm having problems getting my GX to work with DriveCore(GX_SptwarePack_AUG20_2008_rev1). When I load the drive core software my LCD shuts off. The device does not list/display in any of the utilities/setup software. If I uninstall DriveCore, uninstall the driver from Device Manager, restart and then reinstall the driver I get the blue GX logo. I can then see the device with the firmware utility the device listed is
"GX 240x64 FW:2.0 Rev:2235 Serial:G11A8D83636A50000002" .
Any assistance on this matter is greatly appreciated

When you say shuts off, does it disappear completly from the device manager? or does it stay there? If you point a remote at it (doesn't matter if you bought it with the GX or not) does the IR led on the left of the display light up when the unit is in this state?

The device stays in the device manager until usb unplugged.
When I unplug (USB) and reinsert the USB device I hear the device connection bell and can confirm the device in Device Manager

Sometime I can connect with the LCD defaults configuration utility(driveCore service not started). However I get mixed results from flashing screen to blank screen. A few times this utility locked up/crashed.
