Microchip P16F877A LCD Display

Post by winson »

Hi friends,

I was developed my remote control project(UART) by using PIC16F877A, now i was plan to add a LCD display to the remote control but i dont know much about the LCD.

So what type of LCD do i need to choose?
Then rougly what is the programming method for each type of LCD?

I have search through the internet for information, but on the whole still not clear about the LCD stuff....

Any suggestions or comments are appreciate.

Thanks a lot.

Well we have a wide range to chose from. One of our simpler designs that you can start with would be our MOS series. It communicates easily with virtually any processor via RS232 serial at TTL levels, something that PICs do very well. You can get it in a variety of sizes, 2x16, 2x20 and 4x20 are our most popular. You can also choose LCD or VFD. VFDs are more bright than LCDs, but they do cost more and take more current. Really the pros and cons have to be weighed with what you want to accomplish with your project.
