Menu and Game LCD

Post by illusion29 »

Hey

Wasn't sure which forum to post this in as there wasn't a general hardware section but hope this will still help me :)

I am using the ATmega32A for my micro controller. the microcontroller has SPI and some I/O free. I will be using the USART for something else

For my exercise interface project I want to display text for menu navigation and profile data on people when they make a certain selection.

Plus I want a LCD to display a simple game

Attached is what I want to relatively display on the screen when the person is playing. Highscore/username/personal best text data and a little game character i.e. the the rocket in the middle in the centre

So I would want a relatively big screen like 3-5 inch possibly and interface with the ATmega through SPI if possible or I/O pins

And less than $100

Any recommendations on which LCD would be best?

Cheers

We currently don't offer SPI so that would leave you with a parallel display like the mop-240128 which sells for about $89

Thanks for the reply :)

How many pins would I need to interface with that LCD?
