What to buy...

Post by J.P. »

I'm new to this kind of stuff and I could use some guidance on what to purchase. Right now I've selected:

1 x MOS-AL202C-BW3SJ
1 x Communication and Power Cable
1 x POWER CABLE 5V
1 x B2021-BL (black alum.)

I plan to use this stuff in a PC just for hobby purpouses. What I'm not sure of is if I need to buy an X-Board to use with the MOS* lcd's. I'm under the impression that I don't need it but I want to be sure before I go through with the order. I'm hoping with the stuff above to be able to program it as a serial device.

Any information would be appreciated,
J.P.

Thanks for posting in the Matrix Orbital LCD Forums.

I'm glad to see you've chosen a wonderful display. Everything looks good to go!

As long as you plan to communicate with the display via serial connection, then you are set to rock! The X-board is part of the MOS series. This board simply turns a parallel display into a serial communicating display.

If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to ask

Thanks for the info, got my stuff and it works great. Didn't take long before I was writing my own software for it. I'm pretty impressed with the ease of installation and programming via a serial interface.

Thanks again,
J.P.
