Dallas temp probe

Post by firehorse »

Hi,
I plan on getting the LK202-25-USB-R, GX24064-TCI-BBI, and VK202-25-R Displays

I know 32 DOW probes are possible but,

Do MO screens support say 4 Dallas probes ? or 10 probes ? All one wire ?

I found the sensor on the MO website but looks that it isn't 'chainable'..

I can solder my own wiring, so no biggie if you don't sell 'Y' connectors.

I also noted I need to ask specifically for a DOW bridge with the screens I plan order

*******
This is why
Its going into a PC mod project.

PC front panel will have approx: 10 of 20x2 screens + a few 20x4's

I want at least 10 DOW probes, some screens with 4 probes, some screens with 2 probes and various combination's.

Is this possible with the above said screens ?

thanks again, looking fwd to your reply.

regards,
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

The LK202-25-USB and VK202-25 units you have chosen are One-Wire capable, be sure to confirm you'd like the headers populated when ordering. The GX does not have One-Wire capability, though it may be added at a later, undetermined, date.

Our probes do not have a Y connector, but can be chained. The two displays mentioned above have only 1 DOW header so you'll need to do a little wiring. Again, 32 devices on one display is theoretically possible; limited by stock only my colleague has successfully tested 6, so 4 is no problem.

Finally, you may want to check out our LK202-24-USB sale on now (the VK202-24-USB is also on sale if you'd like to pick up a red filter). The standard B USB connection is a little dated, but you do get the same screen on the front and the added bonus of 4 DOW headers on the back.

Again, if you have any further questions just throw them up.

Thanks,
~Troy

Hi Clark,

are there any other differences to the ones you mentioned, LK202-24-USB-R vs LK202-25-USB-R series in terms of clarity/color/bright ?

is the VK202-24-USB same screen display qualities as the VK202-25-USB ?

I'm after the best red on black resolution. ie only see red text (well, as much as possible)

Also, when I order where do I mention i want populated DOW bridges ?

regards,
Adrian

Hi Adrian,

The difference between the -25 and -24 will lie at the back of the unit, you'll find the same screen on the front of each. I might lean towards the LCD for the best black on red, but you have the images, and again, you can change brightness and contrast to suit your application.

Before ordering, send an email over to sales@matrixorbital.ca, they'll let you know how to get the DOW populated.

Thanks,
~Troy
