attatching temp sensors with acrtic silver?

Post by ghost2501 »

I cant find where I asked before, but I am going to get some arctic silver adhesive not the regualr stuff to mount my sensors on critical components. Its permanent and its probably the besy thing you could use. I just remember it was asked here before and the Matrix Orbital staff suggested epoxy. That works fine but for enthusiasts that want a better solution I think this stuff is the final end all solution. It will be nice to get some sensors attatched right to my Mosfets, North bridge, South bridge, CPU, memory, and even inside my power supply.

Later on when I make another build i will even try lapping the sensors and the surface where they are attatched to see if I get any temp difference. You can get a big temp difference lapping cpus and using thermal compound so i am sure you will get more accurate results plus its permaneant adhesive.

Anyone out there try this before? I am ordering some of this soon anyway. If it works and I am sure it will It should be recommended.
