Apologies in advance is this has been answered before. I searched the forums and did not find an answer...
In reading the latest (2.1 or 2.0) VK204-25 manuals, it appears that the direction of the brightness adjustment has been changed, though this does not appear in the ECN published for 2.0 change.
In the current (2.1) manual, the table for brightness appears this way:
Value Brightness
0x00 0%
0x01 25%
0x01 50%
0x02 75%
0x03 100%
In the prior manual, the table for brightness is:
Hex Values Brightness
0x00 100%
0x01 75%
0x02 50%
0x03 25%
In other words, the directions seem to be reversed in the new version.
I'm trying to maintain backward and forward compatibility in my software, and I don't have a display from each version to test. Are either or both tables correct? Have the directions been changed in the new displays or is this a misprint?
VK204-25 Rev 2.0 vs. Rev 1.23 Brightness Controls
Hello gcardwel,
Thank you for your post.
Both PCB 1.23 and 2.0 respond to
0x00 - 100% brightness
0x01 - 75% brightness
0x02 - 50% brightness
0x03 - 25% brightness
I apologize for the erroneous parameters in the new (PCB 2.0) manual. Just fired off an email to the concerned to rectify this.
