Hi ISSA2000,

Thanks for posting on the forum.

Here are the answers to the questions.

1. You won't need to do any desoldering or soldering to control your fan. We have placed a fuse there, so you won't need to do any modifications. I apologize for any confusion, but the manuals are in the process of being updated.

2. You can change the temperature precision to no decimal places at Test/Configuration->Page 1 defaults->Decimal precision->None.

3. Temperature sensing is limited to the Dallas one wire protocol, so you won't be able to use the 2 wire temp sensor from your power supply. You will need to hook up the sensor to a seperate controller, do the required math conversions, and send the value to the display. The rpm sensing can only be shown on the specific pin on the fan header.

4. You will need to purchase a new unit to change it from blue to red. If you can't get it in Austrailia, you can also purchase units directly from us at http://www.matrixorbital.com/ I'm not sure if you tried our Austrailian distributor, but you can find them at http://www.matrixorbital.com/links.php?lPath=8 You will be able to hook up a keypad or switch to make the screen change to the next. You can also use you keypad, by using the "Hot Key" plugin in LCDC. For more information on the keypad, please refer to section 3 Keypad Interface in the manual at http://www.matrixorbital.ca/manuals/LK_ ... SB_140.pdf

I see the software might be a small learning curve, but there are a few resources available. You can start with the getting started guide at http://www.lcdc.cc/help/gettingstarted.htm , and there is also the LCDC forum at http://forums.lcdc.cc/index.php?act=idx

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to post.

?

hooked up 5 1/4 panel install (used internal usb cable) +floppy connected (power) hooked up 3 fans (of which one is the cpu fan) gpo on high default

when i turn on my machine display goes ondefault logo- but does not turn fans on till you load windows... and then software takes over fan speeds etc..
(i think some power is going to the fans but they are not spinning).
(problem if im using gpo 1 to control cpu fan) if its not on at bootup cpu over heats (4800 cpu)

(older manual say yoy can power the unit from floppy and not usb)
ie usb for communication gpos+ display take power from floppy?
to when i turn on my pc cpu fan starts.) but you hafe to do some soldering?

my question is -
can i get the fans running at full speed when i first turn on my pc- (before windows loads.

thanks.
p.s i think im going by the new manual (online) the on on the cd is of the older unit (design) my unit (has the fan headers )

Actually, you can have the fan defaults changed for startup of your pc. You can perform this by using a software called bootedit. Bootedit can be found on the ecd that came with you display. If you can't find boot edit, you can download it at http://www.matrixorbital.ca/software/so ... /bootedit/

Let me know if this works out for you.

Best Regards,
it changes feq et (softwware ) works but does not chane the fact that when you turn on the pc -the fans run at min (or off) speed (low) till you load windows - then they run at full speed- till i load [lcdc] then the fan runs the way i set them up.

unit (display be power from usb) fans from 12v floppy-

should i have the unit be power from floppy.

or would my problem still be there. ie from pressing the "on button" on the computer (display go on) but fans dont spin (have power in fans but runs in stop mode-till windows loads then go to full rpm (without lcdc).

the bootedit say rpm for fan are at max (works when slider goes up/down pwm 19.7 etc

Best Regards,
soft ware buggy (but it works (some times))

set freq to 72 fans to full (x2 fans) and one to 80%

works (the software should say ) done when you finished change to unit.

i tryed this software a day before(it did nothing) def 19 freq but max fan rpm - bug?

it 19 but insted of setting up max rpm it puts min (0%) rpm on boot up

when you set it to 72 max rpm it remembers.

thanks

now i can have it power up (on full rpm) cpu fan when i turn the computer on - and once winows loads software takes over-- if software quits goes to full speed (fans)

what happens if lcdc crashes - drops from memory

does it

1. go back to full speed (quit lcdc software)
or
2 stay at the rated speed the fan was unning (80%) iv set it

i hope (if lcdc) crashes the fans would go back to full speed ieno1.?

Glad you the default to change for you. If you don't like using bootedit, you can also use uproject. Uproject can be downloaded at http://www.matrixorbital.ca/software/so ... /uproject/ To learn how to set the default gpos with uproject, you can refer to the link http://www.lcdforums.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2782

If LCDC does crash, the fans will spin at what your default was set at. So setting them at 100% will probably be the ideal setting for you.

If you have anymore questions or concerns, please feel free to post.

LCDC crash - ha ha !! :) Well to be honest if you take a look at the LCDC forums and the number of users, I doubt you find it will crash. BTW I didn't write the bootedit program!

Like Mat said, the chance of LCDC crashing is very minimal. We only use the very best products available at Matrix Orbital and LCDC is the best on the market!! That being said, it's always a good idea to safeguard for any unforeseen circumstance. :D
