I have some LED fans attached to my Matrix Orbital MX4. The fans are running at about 50% speed - this obviously means the LEDs on them are not at full brightness as well.
Without LCDC running the brightness and speed of the fans is constant.
However, when I run LCDC about every 3 seconds the LEDs flash (quickly) at a brighter level and I can also see the fans speed get a boost as well...
Over the next three (or so) seconds the LEDs remain at a constant brightness, and the fan then slows downs from the slight speed boost it received. Then after about three seconds the same happens again...
What could be doing this? The flash is so annoying (across 4 fans) it makes them usuable
ps: I've tried different PWM frequencies and different fan speeds and the problem remains...
