LCD Suggestions (Looking for Orange Backlight)

Post by Lonely Raven »

Howdy all,

I've not been around in a while. It's been a LONG time since I've needed or
used an LCD, but I have a new project I'm working on that I think deserves
a nice LCD.

Here is a photo of my latest project:

Image

Sorry for such a crappy photo, but....

What I'm looking for is a 4X20 LCD, or maybe I drop the extra cash for
a graphical LCD and good software to power it, and I'm going to install
it in two empty 5 1/4 bays below the DVD-ROM drive in the front. (sorry
I don't have any front photos handy, I'm still working and burning
the system in and cleaning up the wiring).

So I'm looking for 4X20, or Graphical, but I'd REALLY like it to be
Orange Backlit to make it match the system. USB would be nice too,
but I'm not seeing such a thing right now.

Anyonw have any suggestions or is there a known reliable mod I can do
to make current LCDs orange enough to match the rest of the system?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Oh, and one last thing, here is a thread where I used a Matrix Orbital
(that I still have) in my last big project case:

I might be able to hang in there for a bit.

I was considering getting the 2X20, but that just seems like such a waste
of space compaired to a 4X20. You can fit so much information per screen.

The 2x20 USBs are great entry level screens. However the 20x4's do have significantly more space. If you want one, I think the USB is worth the wait, its just so much easier. Plus things like high power GPOs which are really useful!
