Which one?

Post by ru1 »

I am stuck on which lcd to buy. I am torn between the LK204 and the VK204. What are the benefits of one over the other. I am new to LCD's and the main difference that I can see is that the VK has a better/brighter display. With the LK though I can get the blue/white combo though. Does anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on the two? Thanks, ru1.

You have a USB 204? Wow I'm missing out... :eyebrow:

Now to address the topic, VFD's are a lot nicer - I've had both (don't currently have either!) and I prefer the VFD by far (though the red version of the 202 is so hard to resist, looks great in real life!). I doubt you'll notice the other benefits of a VFD (temp response etc.)

Hehe it is I'm afraid... I get a lot of displays but I give them away as quickly as they arrive, it's a habbit I can't kick!

Anyway got a couple of very special (non mo unfortunately :() serial graphic vfd's on the way soon, so I'll be back in business again before you know it :)

This forum's only for MO LCD discussion I'm afraid (see the rules) - but very briefly taking the TFT out of a laptop and hoping to run it from a desktop is a pipedream. You'll need a very expensive controller (cost you a couple of hundred $'s), there's no simple solution I'm afraid.
