Mod question about the Typhoon...
So if you remove the Typhoon from its bay holder (4xscrews?), is the IR sensor connected in such a way that if you mount the display (LCD) in a surface you'll have to make provisions for the IR sensor too? ie: It's connected and flush with the actual screen so you'll have to mount the LED sensor as ...

Typhoon - black aluminium or, brushed black alumium?
I've looked through reviews and photos and can't really see the finish on the Typhoon? In some shots it looks like brushed black aluminium, and in others it looks like just matt black? Is it basically akin to the silver finish, but in black, so it would go with a Lian black case? ie: brushed black a...

Yes but graphic instead of alphanumeric. I know it's subjective but are you able to comment on this? I prefer the look of the inverse blue display (it's what I have on my MX422), but without seeing a Typhoon in the flesh I don't know how it's inverse blue appears. Would you say it's just as easy to...

We would like to produce that kind of thing but the costs of creating an enclosure vs the projected extra sales it would generate makes it just not worth it. I understand... The encloser could just be a piece of metal folded over to 60ish degrees which you screw the existing unit into the back of...

Why isn't the Typhoon available as a stand alone USB device?
Out of interest, imagine if the Typhoon was available as a small self contained unit you could just sit on your desk, or the top of the case, which you just plugged into the PC via a rear USB socket? Why use up a 5.25 bay? What if your PC isn't infront of you? What if your case has a door? If you co...

Typhoon - Can the Tricolor mimic the inverse blue display?
From what I understand - GX24064-TC-BBI - Tri Color display with black aluminum bay insert. GX24064-WB-BBI - Inverse blue display with black aluminum bay insert. If you buy the tricolor version so the display can become any colour, is it not possible for it to be made to look exactly like the 'inver...

Silver Typhoons?
Don't really want a big rectangle of black in my nice silver Lian case strangely... Are silver aluminium ones ever going to appear?

For GX displays, not to my knowledge. My guess is that Matrix Orbital keeps their costs down by limiting the variations of their GX design. It is possible that the cost to manufacturer one without the IR sensor would cost the same or more than just including the component on all of the devices. But...

No, you're not hearing things. Our previous motor controller did use pulse control, however it did it at a much slower rate. The result is that there are artifacts within the audible range. On some fans, you really couldn't hear it. On others, you definitely could. If we do go pulse control on this...

This one is up in the air still. If it is controlled by pulse, it will be up in the 30+KHz range to keep it WELL outside the audible range, and if someone is inclined to put a light on there, outside the visual range. Overall, pulse is much simpler to design, and far more flexible, but we will NOT ...

Not really, but all GX'es come with the reciever circuit build in so even if you do not buy the remote right now and change your mind later you can buy the remote then and it'll work. If you have a universal remote that does RC6 encoding it might also work with the GX but this is untested and we re...

The remote control interface is mainly designed to work with Microsoft Vista Media Center in home theatre pc's (XP is not supported because microsoft did not open up the specifications for XP just for vista, we would love to support XP but are unable to do so) but if you just want to control the vo...
