I'm not sure what you guys have talked about, but it sure sounds to me like this unit should work. 2 important tests: 1 - Can you see key presses? 2 - Can you store contrast (or something) through power cycles? If you can do these 2 things, then what you are describing is almost surely not hardware ...

Sure, you can add buttons to the LK404-55 (55 of them if you want). As for the LEDs, I think that unit has just 1 (or none) outputs for that, so the VU is out. Might I suggest, though that since the display is as large as it is, that you use the display itself for the VU function. I have done this a...

While I know virtually nothing about Linux, I do know something about the sometimes silly things that OS's and environments do by default. It seems to me that you are in a mode that acts like a terminal. A terminal mode will sometimes echo by default and this is what I believe is happening to cause ...

Well, first lets state that this is something you don't want to happen. You never want to send more data than the unit can hold. This is obvious, but there can be side effects beyond the simple lose of data. When the unit is forced to try to deal with excess data, it CAN get a bit messed up. We have...

Well, there is no mounting kit specifically for the GLK12232-25SM yet.

Henry: How well does the LK162 overlay fit on the SM? It must be pretty close.

Jake, now lets see if Henry reads this before I can call him.

BTW, you also have access to the "free stuff" forum now.

Everyone as of today should have access to the new "private" forum called "Free Stuff". Have a look and tell your friends.

Well, I rebuilt it with a 6 gallon reservoir and the pump submerged. Actually, it is a sort of radiator/evaporation combo. I don't know WHAT I'm going to do about the hard water...

As a sanity check, use magd to turn on and off the backlight. Are you communicating? Now, use the "Wipe module file system" button. Check the backlight. Still communicating? Now upload a font to reference number 1. set current font to 1. Set font metrics to reasonable numbers. Send text. I...

on the other hand, if you have an alphanumeric module and you want to put a "F" on the screen, you just say "F". If you have a Matrix Orbital graphic display and you want an "F" on the screen, you just say "F". Same thing. We take care of most of the abstracti...

after uploading a new font, please make sure that you also set the current font (else how does it know which font to use) and set font metrics (else how does it know how to place characters). This will probably solve your problem.

Well, last night all the water drained out of my water cooled rig here. I have a small crack in the radiator. Obviously the temperature of the CPU went way up and it eventually crashed. I woke up to the POST screen and the pump whining. I don't have a peltier strapped to the back of the water block,...
