couldn't you boot up with a DOS-floppy disk, then replace the registry with one of the backups windows normally makes, and then restart? I dunno, this works with Win98SE...

if you can't get it to show anything else, you might want to do the manual override ... :o lol, nothing special really, just poweroff, short the 2 middle pins on the keypad-header, poweron, (the baudrate should now be set to 19200), set the baudrate you wish, poweroff, don't short the pins anymore, ...
