Well first thing is they are 12V LEDs in the display right now. You could use 5V but would have to be creative in wiring them up.

The 2N3904 transistor is just an example. You could use anything you want, like the 2N3055 for example.

Well, first of all, place a jumper on the middle two pins of the keypad, then power the display up. Then youshould be able to turn on Alpha Demo, st the right Comm Port and se it at 19.2K speed.
