Re: Microcontrollers Driver board/module configuration issues - help needed

Hi Andy, This forum is generally used to discuss Matrix Orbital Products, as well as provide support to those who are having troubles interfacing with their displays. That said, perhaps another member of the forum can point you in the right direction regarding your driver board configuration. It may...

Re: Microcontrollers Driver board/module configuration issues - help needed

Hi Andy,

Welcome to the forums!

I see that you are having issues configuring your motor/solenoid driver board. Are you looking to control the Driver Board using one of our Displays?

Cheers,
Daniel

EVE2 Module: JPEG Viewer Example

In this application, we’ve showcased one of the many ways to upload a photo onto the EVE2 Module by developing a photo viewer application. A set of buttons allow users to cycle through the images being uploaded on the display. The code is a modified version of FTDI’s Sample Application that they pro...

EVE2 Module: Drawing with Primitives Example

With the release of the new EVE2 TFT series, I have developed a few application notes which are aimed to assist those beginning their own EVE2 TFT development. These appnotes should provide users with the insight they need to communicate with their EVE2 modules, and take advantage of all the feature...

Matrix Orbital EVE Series

Matrix Orbital is excited to introduce the new EVE2 TFT module; a display series that combines our world class displays with FTDI’s award winning FT81x EVE chips. The FT81X series chips are graphics controllers with additional features, including audio playback and touch capabilities. The Embedded V...

Re: GTT70A Power

Hi Haz,

I see. In order to supply power from the I2C header, you will need to populate the D3 pad with a BAT720 Schottky diode. You can find one of these diodes here.

Re: GTT70A Power

Hi Haz,

And to confirm, the I2C header is populated on both displays?

Re: GTT70A Power

Hi Haz, Since D3 is not populated, you will not be able to apply any power to the display through the I2C header. The I2C header is populated on many of our GTT's allowing for I2C communication but depending on the display, D3 may not be, preventing power through I2C. I am confirming with the PCB de...

Re: GTT70A Power

Hi Haz,

Power through I2C should work out of the box. No changes to the board are necessary for the unit to be powered via I2C.

If you have a multimeter on hand, you can check for a voltage at pin 3 of D3; You should see 5V.

Re: GTT70A Power

Hi Haz, It is interesting to hear that you are unable to power up your GTT through the I2C header. How much current is your power supply providing to the display? The GTT70A uses a substantial amount of current in comparison to the smaller GTT displays that we offer. This is why we suggest that powe...

Re: GTT Design: Screen Tracking Example

Hi Haz, The GTT has an "Echo Command" that can be used to test communication. When the GTT receives an Echo command, it will simply return whatever it was requested to echo via the protocol it was requested on. e.g if you request an echo on a serial line, the GTT will return the specified value on t...

Re: Will GLK24064R-25-1U-USB-TCI work with LCDproc?

Hi nwestfal, The commands for the GLK24064 and the GLK24064R are identical, so the 24064R should function identically as the 24064 when a new product ID is dropped in. I also noticed when I did add the product ID, and ran the GLK24064R and GLK24064, there were noticeable graphical glitches. The prop...

Re: Will GLK24064R-25-1U-USB-TCI work with LCDproc?

Hi nwestfal, I apologize for the delay. The GX is an EOL product, so it will be difficult to find. It looks like none of our main distributors still list the item in their catalog. If you can find one from a smaller distributor, you'll be in luck, as it does work very well with LCD4Linux without nee...

Re: Will GLK24064R-25-1U-USB-TCI work with LCDproc?

Hi nwestfal, Welcome to the forums! I've given it a quick test, and unfortunately it doesn't look like LCDproc has updated it's drivers to include the GLK24064R series of displays. When I attempted to run the client, LCDproc was unable to properly detect the GLK24064R, and returned an error. There i...

Re: LCD2041 Screen freeze with garbage

Hi Radut, It's unfortunate to hear that the script didn't resolve the issue. At this point, I am unsure at what may be causing your communication woes :( There is still one more option we can try. We can try wiping the display eeprom, and resetting the display's memory entirely. Doing so will wipe o...
