SPACE INVADERS

On one of the screens on the MO web site there is what looks like space invaders running on a 20x4.....

Was this just a mock up, or did someone write space invaders to work on a MO display with keypad input?

Just a Quick Note

I just wanted to add that while connecting GND (0V) together as instructed in this situation is fine. 0V is not always 0V and sometimes they cannot be connected together. In some systems different GNDs are isolated for noise. And in some cases GNDs should be separate unless the gauge of wire used is...

Mis Understood

I don't understand how you used a hack saw or a dremel on metal pins without getting fragments everywhere. But it sounds like it worked so - good job! I also wanted to throught my hat in the ring to say the PCB could be made smaller and the power and serial connections should be 1 - completely optio...

Sending Commands

When sending commands to the MO (LK204-25) should I send them one at a time or can I send them as one command? e.g. In VB, MyComm.Output Chr$(254) MyComm.Output Chr$(71) MyComm.Output Chr$(dspColumn) MyComm.Output Chr$(dspLine) -or- MyComm.Output Chr$(254) & Chr$(71) & Chr$(dspColumn) & ...

Set Cursor Position **NOT WORKING**

For some reason the addtion of the $ on Chr worked. In debug it seems to produce the same character but I guess in the black box of VB the $ makes a difference. Thank you very much.

Just to be clear....

Use Chr$() instead of Chr() when sending commands via VB.

Set Cursor Position **NOT WORKING**

I am having a problem with any command I sent to the LK204-25 that has more than just the CMD_PREFIX CMD format. For example the Set Cursor Position command. In VB, if I send at 19200 to COM1... MyComm.Output Chr(254) MyComm.Output Chr(71) MyComm.Output Hex(dspColumn) MyComm.Output Hex(dspLine) Rega...

I just wanted to check before I reinvented the wheel. He is my wheel for the LK204-25 (or any 20x4) display.

This lens thickness is .090 made from 1/8" lexan.

If anyone is interested please let me know. I have not worked up pricing yet.

Protective LCD Covers

I dont know if this is the right place to post this. But...

Does any one know where I can find a protective cover for the display. I searched the web and found nothing. I would LOVE to have one that allowed me to have a totally smooth front on the cover.

Thanks.

PWR connector on displays

I would love to see a right angle connector for the power and rs232. Or even a molex locking connector.

If you are trying to fit the MO info a small case the connectors are not good for saving space. IMHO
